My Will Or His Way - A poem

It has been quite a while since I blogged last. This is just to get back to some thought sharing process once again. This is poem which just came on the spur after Naresh came visiting and promised to blog his poems while in USA. Hope you will read this.....

There is this man desolate and poor,
Crying for succor in a deafening roar.

And the other looking for enlightenment,
Unable to relate to any of His creation.

The former is cursing Him for his fate
Latter just bewildered at His apostate.

Blessed are the poor says the Lord,
No, it’s one who’s unable to relate says I.

At the threshold of losing all their will,
They have only Him to show the way.

Both are so pathetically distressed,
That they miss His hands stretched.

Inviting them both to say as it were,
That deliverance is only that much near.

Alas not many are there, so blessed,
In false belief they remain possessed.

Calling themselves secular or spiritual,
“Be positive” is mantra for both essential.

Attachment is the fatal lure of His creation,
With myriads of religion & polarized sentiment.

This game being His sole entertainment,
It’s churlish to dismiss it as entrapment.

Secular-spiritual polarization is a myth in duality,
Only negation of duality is liberation in Reality.

The mantra for merger & final beatitude,
Is to go from detachment to un-attachment.

Yet enjoying every moment of His creation,
Sans attachment, knowing I am but Him.

Alas vain & steeped in ignorance,
Will I ever receive deliverance?

O’Lord is my SOS roar so very low
Or is my detachment so shallow,

That you pretend not to hear or deliver,
But instead choose to let me just “be”?

  1. That's like a painting that takes your breath away. Until you recover to take a closer look at the several strokes that made up the masterpiece. " Blessed is the one who's unable to relate" echoes Aurobindo's,"...when the mind is free from its certainties...". Master stroke. " Going from detachment to un-attachment" is another one.
" This game being His sole entertainment" attributes to Him a lack of choice with a suggestion of " certainty " in your understanding of His reason for creation. That is somewhat of a discordant note in your flowing symphony.
Welcome back to your freewheeling philosophical musings. And, if you can take this, God is believed to leave enormous gaps between one cycle of His repetitive creation and the next. This seems to renew the experience each time.I am seeing this happening with the reappearance of your latest posting.
    God bless us all.

  2. What can I say to this overwhelmingly flattering remarks. To look for and then rejoice over a good remark, etc ....would this amount to attachment? And if I am say detached or a step better "un-attached,and not even acknowledge such warm responses, will it not amount to an uncivilized behavior? Moksham without regard to sensitivity cannot be moksham.....

The choice of the word "sole" is indeed not very apt. I wanted to amplify "entertainment" and needed some word to go with the general flow....

Thanks is not an adequate enough word for expressing what I feel. The day starts well and let me think this is all "god's way" and not bother to research further about detachment, & un-attachment and savor this moment in complete attachment, and say thank you, thank you.....
