Reflections

The phrase "time-pass" in Samskrit would translate to "Kaala Kshepam". All must be familiar with the term "katha kalakshepam" which means literally time pass thru stories. A very obnoxious reference to all "katha kalakshepams" (The blog has a write up on this and since I do not have a copy of the book for reference I am unable to give the page number) But let that be.

Our time-pass can be similar, these are not "whiling away times,  but are  few moments of  "reflections" is my feeling. Hence this title in the blog for these e-mail exchanges.

Katha kalakshepams are once again - after a brief lull - very popular going by pravachans in the so called spiritual channels which are mushrooming in every language. In the hope that they are all moments of "reflections" , the idea of daily "time-pass" moments were thought of by me. These are just that: "reflections" , and not necessarily time pass. Participation/contribution is not mandatory, but will be a welcome bonus.

And BTW what's the difference between this and blog entries? Both are Jignyaasaas but the form is different. One is a short story and the other a novel, one is a one day match and the other is a 5 day test. Since the interest is waning, and "reflections" are varied in nature, these are perhaps my attempts to attract a larger audience .....to the original cause: "jignyaasaa".

Today's thought for "reflections".

Each one of us together with every conceivable living/inanimate beings are but God's creation, or actors in His Leela/play just (blasphemously) like in an Ekta Kapoor's show. Each character has a defined role which is no reflection of his/her individual real self. The Rona/Dhona, the good/bad, etc etc., are all part of the play. They are and will just "be" as designed by Him or Ekta in her show.

The word "nyasa" in Samskrit means "things in their places" or characters that will "be" in that play. Samyak in samskrit means "well designed". When you combine these two words you get " Sanyaasah" meaning let all the well designed things just "be".

One who is able to treat every creation as they are and let them "be" or in other words one who does not disturb any scheme of things and let them "be" is a "Sanyaasi". A derived and easier to understand meaning is that universally acknowledged one namely "renunciation".

When one is in that stage, (Sanyaasa Yoga) realization dawns that every conceivable polarized feeling and sentiment is merely confined to the actors in play........ and they will all just "be" . There will be no need to disturb this wonderful "scheme" which is designed for sort of an entertainment. This stage of wisdom is what is "sanyaasah". Inspiring?

I hope I have done some justice to a word which has great depth, but the mere idea of trying to capture some of its essence gives me a measure of relief and comfort for me. And I will not attempt to disturb others from "being" what they are........

Love
