The cycle of Shrishti, Paripalanam, & Samharam
(Creation, Protection, and Re-union)
1.
(Saguna)
Eswarah (Nirguna) Brhma Nimithham.
The Supreme Spirit is beyond
Form& Rupa, and therefore the comprehensible form of “Eswarah” comes forth as
an efficient cause. (Nirguna- without any characteristic features, Saguna- is
one with them.
2.
Yadh
Eswara sankalpena, mayadheena sakala jeeva, jagath shrishtihi, stithihi, Samharam/Layam
cha
Out of this Eshwar’s
volition/imagination, springs forth the cycle of Creation (of the Universe, all
living/non- living beings) their Protection, and Final re-union with it-self, all
of which are subservient to the power of “Maya”(the illusion by virtue of which
one considers the unreal universe as really existent and distinct from that
Supreme Spirit)
3.
Brahmn
sarva bhootheshu kevalam saakshi roopena samsthithah.
The Supreme spirit resides in
every being only as a mere witness without participating in any of its actions.
4.
Agyanena
swadheenam mathwa, jeevasya vyavaharam.
Out of ignorance, every living
being –the jeevah- goes about conducting /behaving itself with the belief that it
enjoys unfettered free will.
5.
Pragyaanena
Brahma Eikyam, Swaadheenam cha.
When realization/wisdom dawns the
jeeva dissolves/merges itself with the Supreme
and regains its self/free-will/self- power.
6.
Pralayyanthara
shoonyasya brahmn eko saakshi, na eswarah, na Jeevah, na jagath.
After dissolution (re-union of all
shrishti with the Supreme) there is “shoonya” or nothingness. Since even to
know that there is “nothing” a witness is needed, only “sath” remains to witness this
“shoonya” . The word “Sath” means -one without “nothingness”-,
which is the Brahmn. All other creation, being mere illusions namely the jeevah,
the jagath, and even the one with an identifiable form “Eshwarah” just cease to exist,
having merged into that Brahmn..
7.
Punah
Eshwarah, shrishti paripalana, samhara chakra , punarapi brahma eikyam.
The same process of appearance of Eswarah,
to the re-merger with the Supreme etc., recommences. And the cycle repeats itself over and over
again.
