Greetings for 2010

Hi Folks

Hopefully you will all find time to go thru my heavy new year greetings. Here it goes

2010 – Message
The Hindu religion amongst its many features has this unique one; it sanctions absolute freedom and power to us human beings, to exercise our free will without hindrance, in performance of all our acts. This is in sync with our conception of a quintessentially democratic set-up.
The only caveat is that the plethora of over 3 billion Gods, watch over every action of ours as mute witnesses, and dispense with fruits of such actions based on the merits. It also holds, that in the ultimate stage of man’s evolution, one will be able to perceive in one’s consciousness, that You/I/Gods are all mere illusive manifestations of that undivided, non-dual, “ONE REALITY” the universal soul. Thus with consummate ease, the religion, is able to take in its fold non-believers, nay even persons of other faith, as indeed part of the same Universal Soul.
This profound concept, (loosely termed hinduthwa) with emphasis on one’s consciousness, could fill our psyche overwhelmingly, but our mindset mesmerized by the tantalizing lure of the word “management” has just succumbed to the sophistry of buzzword TQM, and allowed this to permeate every sphere of our mundane/corporate/temporal/spiritual lives. More sadly, this hinduthwa concept itself has become an object of ridicule if not abuse, in the land of predominant Hindus. Running this down, passes off as legitimate “noblesse oblige” and is almost mandatory for the others, if they want to be relevant.
Figure 2010, represented as a single digit, gives the number 3. Numerology gives this number to planet Jupiter. Hindus elevate Jupiter to “God’s Guru” status, and the Gregorian calendar year 2010 is almost on us.
A year in the cosmic life cycle would represent a nano -second. Can we therefore pause, ponder, and perhaps meditate for that nano-second, inspired by the lord Jupiter, ridding ourselves of all barriers like hate, prejudice, boundaries of religion/states etc ad- nauseum, try and experience in our consciousness the transcendental reality of “oneness” with the non-dual universal soul in absolute bliss. Wishing you all, love, peace, and prosperity, thru 2010, and forever thereafter. ALV

  1. Vichu Athan,
Beautifully written. Not heavy at all.
Can we have more from where this comes?

  2. Dear Vichu chitappa,

Well said and thanks for the greetings! I liked the concluding "thru 2010, and forever thereafter" which is much more than a new year greeting!

May the planet Guru bring us good times and may our Guru's aashirvaathams be showered on all of us in 2010 such that we can aspire to get that nano-second closer to the ultimate TRUTH..

Wish you, Geeta chitti and Umesh also a Happy New Year!

  3. If one is able to experience oneness with that "one reality" as said, it will be meaningless to wish only for 2010, as there "will be" only peace, love etc forever.......

I hope you get my trend of thoughts....

    Love

    Vichu

  4. Happy New Year! 2010 is going to be a spectacular year!

The folks at Cypress recently watched "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, and suggested that I read a related book "The Law of Attraction". Poking around the Secret website, I found a link to yet another book, evidently quite popular, and quite old, titled "As A Man Thinketh", by James Allen, circa early 1900's. Here it is (electronic form): http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B0vQJH9bNKMqOTMzNjM4NzYtMWQ4Ni00OGE2LWJjYWMtMTE1MmI0ZGQ1Y2U2&hl=en.

It is quite a wonderful read. The Year of Guru is off to a good start!

  5. First up, Happy New Year to all from Aniruddh, Kanchana and Chakku.

Something tells me that 2010 will bring us some lasting answers. I feel encouraged to hear it is the year of the "Guru of the Gods" - so we will be learning from the best that can ever be.

I dont think it a mere coincidence that we should be talking about Secrets and laws of attraction and positive imagery towards the end of 2009. I think it is time that we got some answers and that is why find ourselves physically, mentally and psychologically ripe for learning just at the beginning of 2010 - not before not after - the year of "THE" Guru.

Looks like we are ready to learn and the best Guru just came in. Let the class begin !!!

  6. Happy New Year to all from Aradhana, Anuradha and Anand also! Blessings sought from all the elders here and love to the younger ones!

Yes, in the past few months I have experienced that not only the karma-phala, but also parts of a karma-beginning can be out of our hands! I seem to need a lot of 'inspiration' (as students put it) and 'catalysts' for my work, that needs someone else, then I move! I know it sounds like an excuse and worth chiding, but ripe or unripe, Guru or Sakha or fellow being, we all need some pushing / lifting.

Hope Great Year for us all,

    Anand
