On universal care during Pregnancy

I will now write about something that is not at all as deep as what you learned folk talk about :-) But cosidering there are currently 2 advanced pregnancies in the family - atleast its topical.

I am periodically reminded of how amazing it was being pregnant ......esp one aspect of it - the almost universal love and care I received. We live in a condo which anyway encourages community living. But it was fantastic how people I didnt even know very well would always enquire after my health, hold doors open, give up their place in the queue for a taxi........

Some folks you dont naturally get along with - even those went out of their way to be caring.

There was a baby shower organized and plenty of gifts given........after the birth - there was an endless stream of visitors with gifts.

Of course Indians tend to be closely knit when they are NRIs - but even accountng for that - this experience was very beautiful.

Its almost as if subliminally everyone realises that the greatest miracle of all is taking place ( so what if for the 6.5 billionth time)and wants some part of it.........

I have no iea why I chose to post this but I think it will find some resonance amongst the women, atleast.

Cheers !

  1. Hi Madhuri,

The very fact that you felt like writing, is in itself very immensely comforting to me; the blog idea was precisely this: sharing experiences. I tend to believe, that no experience can be devoid of a "learning" for anyone reading it. Keep it up baby>>>>>.

Menfolk, are unfortunately denied the experience of "motherhood" which to me is clearly a divine gift. There is a famous saying, "since God could not be everywhere, He created Mother". Every time a child is born, a mother is also born. And any one not able to experience this is indeed "missing out".

As to your comment about "lerned folks" etc, please Madhuri, you do not have to be politically correct in our blog. I just feel, that when even a two year old Anirudh, can floor all of us with his messages, who can justifiably qualify for the tag of being "learned?".

It's a "satsangh" to borrow my own repetedly used pet word, and continuous dialogue in our quest for a meaning, everything is welcome and adds value.

    Love

    Vichu
