Raaga Todi to Nirvana - Poetry Sr no 1

Folks

From Bhakthi, vairagyam, to gyanam, to upanishadic advaitham, vichiism, quotes, politics, you have endured all from this old man. Now, take a deep breath; I am actually going to attempt "poetry". In sync with my maverick style it will be. Whether sublime or pure manure or something in between, is not easy to guage; after all one's lip tickling garlic is another man's saliva stopper!!

But jignyaasaa's bosom is so large, and so full of love and compassion, it will take any and every thing in it, and so long as I seem to enjoy it, the youngsters should have hopefully no serious objection. Reading it is not mandatory!!!!!!!! But if done and responded, it's a wonderful feeling. Here I go

A musician is called to sing
the raaga Todi and Kalyani to the king.

King knows not, either Todi or Kalyani
and when the singer sings Todi,
the king actually asks him to sing todi!!

The singer happily obliges by singing Kalyani,
And the King exults in hearing his Todi

Not quite unlike the king,
Knowing neither what is temporal
or eternal, like a old man with a stick,
books on advaitha is my pick,
Deluding myself that I have arrived.

Soon to be disillusioned, am confronted
with profound impact of Prarabda,
leaving methinks going round and round in circles
with neither a beginning nor an end.

The mind suddenly discovers the word "shoonya"
Which is a circle, a "whole" for the faithful,
And a "void" for the infidel.

Negation of self, and dissolution of self into this whole,
the mind tells you is the "realisation" i am seeking
and I am in its perimeter already !!

Just then Anusooya, the one who knows no hatred/jealosy,
with her divine smile takes away all doubts ,
and there is only Love and Peace all round.

Finally the self merges into the whole,
in pure consciousness in the realisation of
absolute bliss of "consciouness is Brahman stage".

I am reminded of the saying " if there is paradise in earth, it is here, it is here" when describing Kashmir. My take

"If there is bliss it is in pure consciousness of Brahman"

( This is neither poetry nor prose but probably prosetry!!!!!)
