(For Dhruv, the batman – Part IV)
Dhruv beta, when you, like the scientists, have practiced the pranayama, correctly and sufficiently, you will realize that material causes like Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen, or other combinations like Sodium hydroxide (tough word, ask mummy) or Potassium Actinide (for this word, read your science properly) do not pose a RISK to the surviving larger entity, namely environment (as in case of a plastic dead body). So too, money as a material cause does not pose any RISK whatsoever for the economy.
In other words, RISK cannot be understood by material causes alone, as it is only explainable as a subtler covering or sheath. You can increase the longevity of your prana by practicing pranayama, you cannot make it eternal as evidenced in the human body. So too, any closed economy can increase its wealth by controlling its money but cannot make it eternal. By drawing parallels, with the human body as a closed system, a set of scientists, known as statistical-economists, removed the material cause for money by removing its link to gold and thus they thought they had started to free the flow of money. This meant there was no physicality to money.
In this the scientists anticipated the next sheath of the Taittiriyam called the Manomaya Kosha. (Mano standing for manas or mind and Maya is still unknown) Money was freely available, man made, as much energy as required could be got thru’ money because of the term “Market Forces” (ask your Appa to explain, but only after doing a thousand pranayamas continuously, and no distraction in between) Incinerators were built, climate change was being combated with the Kyoto Protocol(another thousand for this one), and scientists called the economists, were happily arguing with, the scientists called the psychologists, as to who was the first to discover that RISK is in the MIND! And so says Taittiryam too?
No! It was Taittiriyam’s turn to ask, “Hum chlormint kyun khate hain, bhala?” And all the scientists went, “Chlormint mein herbasol…..A hazar aur pranayam karo …. A kick in the back side ….Aur dobara mut poochna”
In fact what the Taittiriyam asked was, “Is RISK due to a material cause or a mental cause or some specific combination of both?”
Since this coincided with the collapse of the global economy, the scientists who made their wealth using a term called philosophy, also lent a partial ear to this conversation. No one anticipated that the plastic cover of LUX soap could create so much RISK!
In fact, some people left Hindustan Unilever Limited, knowing it was in a “Brick and Mortar” kind of “material cause” based economy to join IBM, the “mental cause” based knowledge economy.
Dhruv beta, Beware (Be Aware),that, with the Manomaya Kosha, Taittiriyam, has only come to the bio-degradable paper cover inside the plastic wrapping. Reading or anticipating (by the way, some scientists in IBM are working overtime on what is meant when a human being uses the word “anticipated”!!) the Taittiriyam up to this point is enough to live in this world merrily, by God, you would have done enough pranayam to know that and without a care for the environment to boot!!
So you can stop if this is getting heavy, but having done so much pranayam, the scientists would be in no mood to relent, so to provoke them the taittiriyam says, “ Mind is the cause of Knowledge , therefore it can be only a cause for the known. RISK, its location being unknown, is unknowable thru the manas or mind.”
Chastened by the fear of the word “unknown” and further by the word “unknowable” , a new group of scientists got interested, called the politicians, especially those, who had promised that they would bring the economy back on track within 100 days! While others of their ilk, secretly desired that the monsoon should stay away, so that they could have a go at the first lot. The first lot started talk of climate change in anticipation (my god, that word again, when will the scientists at IBM finish their research?) …… all that Taittiriyam said was, “hum chlormint kyun…..” and lo, lux soap, risk, environment were all connected again in theory called “Chaos”(for more on chaos, read a book of the same name by James Glieck)… For more on what Taittiriyam said, Read on!
