Reflections :

Reflections Expressed as Vichiisms :

1. Life as we understand is impossible without "Polarization". For every Narender there are (many!!) Rahuls.

2. Polarization = Experience and therefore "Creation". There is no before or after kind of a thing here ...this is eternal beginning less/endless.....

3. Rutham+Sathyam(both created & original) is "IT", transcending polarization+Experience yet everything within it. IT is also termed "Shoonya". The samaadhaanam to the Budhists beliefs about this "nothing" is the explanation that this "one" is a witness to its own "Shoonya".

4. Creation is thus a drama, created with its own dynamics of cause-effect paradigm with accompanying prarabdham (a la Snake & Ladders game) & keeping us "actors" in this stage by that agency called "maya" .

5. The only purpose for actors like us is to see through this Maya as mere maya (illusion) & not become its slave. As the life we know is all "ITS" play, we have to let everything to just "be" as it is ITS script, and merge with IT sans all polarization & experiences.

6.If this considered an insipid not - understandable, not greatly desired stage, (as it possibly seems like) the Ones who get to that stage (Moksha sanyaasaa Stage) seek a duality from & by itself with the resultant duality enjoying "bliss" thru Bhakthi. This Bhakthi incidentally is far removed from the ecstasies of the Thursday/Friday jay jay vittal crowd, many of whom are in bliss seeking every possible "Mayadheena" pleasure in perpetual duality.

Lest I am misunderstood let me add, "As these are also IT's  creation & we have to just let them "be" ......."

Hope I am making some sense.......

Love

  1. Narasimhan's Comments:

I think you are making sense and a good deal of it.

There is a revealing definition of bhakti by Adi Shankaraachaarya in his Viveka Choodaamani. He defines bhakti as; "Swa-swaroopa- anusandhaanam bhaktiriti abhidheeyatay". Since the Tamil translation will drive home the meaning with clarity, let me try and spell it in English as best as I can.
" Tannudia swaroopamaana Brahmamaayirukkum tanmayai idai vidaamal anusandhaanam chayivadu bhakti enru chollappadugiradu". So Bhakti is in fact uninterrupted contemplation on the blissful ( not "insipid")state of non duality that transcends, or to understand it in tune with the joyous emotion of Bhakti, encompasses the Ishwara- Bhakta duality where the bhakta finally loses his separate identity as he dissolves into his own Self.

Andrew Cohen says in one of his characteristically original essays: "The glory of God is the inherent perfection of all things as they are,at all times,in all places through all circumstances..............Beyond all pairs of opposites, the glory of God is all there is, just absolute, incomparable perfection." All old hat?" Let's move on. ......"Before time and space, before the universe was born, there was nothing. Then suddenly from nothing came something. There was an explosion, and what we are all right now including you and me( the Jai Jai Vitthal devotees and the silent seekers) is that explosion in motion. That explosion in motion is (none other than) the One radiant being, conscious, whole and undivided.Enlightenment is the direct recognition of one's own true face as none other than that radiant being.........................

But there is more to Enlightenment than the liberating discovery of the inherent perfection of the absolute or the non dual nature of all things. And that is the emergence of a powerful imperative to evolve.....................The boundless creativity of this evolutionary impulse in action strives to manifest higher and higher expressions of miraculous wholeness and integration..........This ceaseless imperative to evolve is also the glory of God. And the greatest paradox is that this glory is also the the radiant, ever full and complete, always perfect ground of all that is; the very foundation and essence of the explosion in motion of wholeness and integration.that strives to manifest higher and higher expressions.

Enlightenment ,then, is the direct realisation of the dual nature of the glory of God as the inherent perfection of all things and a ceaseless imperative to evolve. What is so precious about human life is our sacred potential to experience this glory in our own hearts and minds...................................(two full paras).

And Andrew goes on to conclude," Enlightenment when it is deep and profound, vast, full and complete always recognises the glory of God as being simultaneously the inherent perfection of all things and the ceaseless imperative to evolve".

It is this duality that those in the "moksha sanyaasi state" apparently see, not quite seek. And so they would see the glory of God as much in the frenzy of the Jai Jai Vitthals as in the "higher" striving for enlightenment in silence. Whatever the manner, where there is earnestness, realisation must set in.

    God bless us all.
