Today's thought has been inspired by an excellent critique of my unease with "scholarship" by Gulpa. This is in the form of a collage of cliches (they appear less as quotes).
Here I go :
1. You are a scholar and so you have scholarship. It's not because you have scholarship that you are a scholar.
2.Aspire to be a scholar, but don't be fascinated by scholarship.
3. Sankalpams lead to scholarship, Sankalpam -less meditation leads to realization .
4. There is no point in pursuing "Knowledge" , YOU ARE.
5. As YOU ARE in realization, You will just "be"
Ubiquitous, all-pervasive effulgent, for ever, in PEACE, HARMONY, & BLISS.
6. Don't just be fascinated by "advaitham". experience & become an "advaithin". (one who has realized)
Remember that famous line of Lord Krishna in that Bollywood film OMG?
I am GOD so I perform miracles; I am not GOD because I perform miracles.
Any further Bhashyam would dilute the import of these cliches /quotes is my honest feeling.
Love
Vichu

ReplyDeleteThat's too scholarly for me to attempt a bhaashyam on.
Thanks for preemptively precluding even my considering one.
