Here is today's "thoughts of the day" as part of my time-pass series (in Mail) and Reflections (in the blog). I owe these (today's) to FB friends.
1. Did any one of you know that the meaning of that famous word "Nike" ?
I believe it represents "Goddess of Victory".. There "Just do it" slogan seems that much more apt and poignant.......
2. The other is a quote from Bishop Desmond Tutu - (Later PM ? of South Africa)
"When the Missionaries came to Africa, they had the Bible and we had the Land. They said "let us pray". We closed our eyes. When we opened them, we had the Bible, and they had the land".
I would not like add my comments to dilute the import of this beautiful quote.
