Dear Children,
In today's newspaper I read an article regarding a match between Kasparov and Karpov, two great grandmasters of chess in our times. I was reminded of a story that my father told me when he would play chess with me in order to teach me the game.
One day, after playing the game which he let me win as usual, he told me a story about two grandmasters. But before that, he put the chessmen on the board, in a particular arrangement, and in his usual style played out his moves from one side, while asking me to play from the other.
This time I lost from what I considered a winning position. He explained to me that this arrangment was called in text books, "a smothered mate". He then went on to tell the story related to the position as he had read in books. It seems that during the press conference that is held after a match between two grandmasters , the press asked the losing grandmaster as to why he resigned in the position that I had started with. The losing grandmaster said, " If I tell you the moves, you may think that my opponent may not have thought of it, so I will not answer the question. The winner has won fair and square, he needs to have the honor of explaining his moves." The grandmaster who won, took over and easily explained the succeeding moves.
When I read today's newspaper, I realised at once that the two grandmasters are replaying a duel for old times' sake.
But will the newspapers and media give them the honor of explaining their positions?
Please ask your parents to explain this to you for behind it lies the secret of all that my father and my mother taught me in life.

If a child asks me to explain ur piece, I would be very hard pressed to give an easy answer.
ReplyDeleteThe word "evolution" is intrepreted in the Oxford dictionary, as " gradual developmentof phenomenon".
And the word maverick as " unorthodox independent, unbaranded calf etc".
With no formal gurukul type of learning regime, especially in the spiritual field, I am quite aware of my "maverick" status. But that does not bar me from nurturing a "jignyaasaa" for unraveling the mysteries of "vichus creation" by Him, and thinking out aloud, in the hope that I may arrive there one day.
The label "move" in the blog for my assays into this exercise, to rid myself of an "inner turmoil" seems very apt. And I also daresay, whether it's your "metaphysical TQM" or for that matter, Shrutis innocuous queries as to how to cnfront a tricky situation in school, everything strictly in a larger sense, is within the ambit of this "move" label.
But for a more realistic and practical codification measure, and to make it more amenable to larger participation, I have suggested different titles/labels. The children series, should therefore be for much lighter/story type/simple riddles kind of pieces. This piece is more aptly in "move" and welcome to the "move" club.
I hope you and also others are able to discern a logic/sense in my chain of thoughts, and help me in finding my inner peace.
May the jignyaasaa sustain and we are all able to get to the right path to "peace, love, and happiness". Amen
Love
Vichu
