1. Bliss is "dharu and chicken" for a punjabi, an endless debate where you are the only one who is allowed to hold forth, for the erudite/knowledgeable, a state of being for the jeevan muktha.
2. Ignorance may or may not be bliss, but neither is knowledge/erudition, it is only the pure consciousness state, which is "bliss" .
3. Evolution ceases, once you are in the state of bliss, and thus its upto one to decide whether to be ignorant , not care much for evolution, and experience bliss till eternity, and so the erudite/knowledgeable, revel in endless arguments / debates, and be in perpetual delusion of being in bliss.
4. Bliss is not an experience, it's a state of being, so long as you experience bliss, you are unable to reach the stage. Thus, if one is able to transcend the experience of even pain, and be in that state, there is only "bliss".
5. Reaching this ideal state of "bliss" is solely dependant on His Grace. Who will get this, is beyond our realm of understanding. The receipients can be both ignorant/knowledgeable, erudite/unlettered, devout/tyrant, rich/poor, and that's the rub.
6. The only silver lining is that it's a question of "when" and not "if" for His Grace to be felt, to take you to that state of "bliss" for He is pure "love". Again this is heart rending, as the believers, the devout, the seekers and what have you, seem to enjoy no edge over the rascals, tyrants, and the unbelievers, and the wait can be endless, or even immediate, for both the groups. (sigh.........)

It is the soul within us that gets the deliverance and not the outward body which seemingly houses the soul - just like the air that occupies the space in a pot and gets released when the pot is broken.
ReplyDeleteThe manifestations of the human form as "rascals, tyrants, and the unbelievers" are cleverly diverting us from the unchangeable consciousness within all beings.
The above is merely a culmination of my thoughts after my recent experience with Kenopanishad (three lectures held in Singapore by Swami Vasudevacharya, an Australian who has joined Chinmaya Mission) and the interesting Case studies "Journey of Souls" by Michael Newton sent by Ambu Chitappa...
I do not want to either be perceived as displaying vanity or arrogance (as described in another blog on the subject) as I am also in the same boat like all of you. :-)
