The intent of the blog
It was just a few months ago, Obama coined a phrase “yes we can”. This caught the imagination and mesmerized the entire lot of of people from Chinchpokli, to China, Timbuktoo to Toronto, and Jhumrataliya to New Jersey.
My immediate previous generation of my father and his three brothers, who all now are in the 55+ club, had grown without experiencing the pleasure of what is termed as a generation gap, with it’s previous generations.
Now to their pleasant surprise, they find that the gen-next, though, is kind of different, are keen and receptive enough to know/share their experiences, and also as eager to hear and share ours.
With Obama’s slogan providing the trigger, the idea of a platform where the family can park its views, and share the responses, was thus born. A blog titled “Jignyaasaa” meaning ‘a desire to know’ was created which would provide this platform.
Since any regimen can act as a barrier for a free flow of thoughts, there is no restriction on the topics that can be covered. It’s my belief that the family’s innate knowledge would guarantee quality, and stimulate a healthy debate on a wide range of topics, which would satisfy many of sour “jignyaasaa”.
Giving a slight spin to Obama’s slogan, and in response to the earlier generation’s desire to contribute something, I would like to coin “yes we all should” as the slogan for our site.
Happy blogging
